Fresh snow, sunlight on Ponderosa Pine forest in Southern Oregon's

Freemont Range.

I was especially fond of how the angled light showcased the various

colors and elements of interest here. It can be very hard to cut through

all the complexities, especially with the light on new snow. For once, I

think it worked out.

Jarmo, all color processing here was done from the same RAW file. Ponderosa trees have some of the reddest, warmest bark of any species, which naturally contrasts the cool color temperature the camera picks up on snow in open shade. The light of course helps as well.

Wonderful composition, Marc. I love this type of light and scene. The fresh snow looks amazing and the cool and warm tonalities are wonderful.

The shadows and backdrop sky appear to be a tad cyan to me, but you may also lose some of the greens in the scene by adjusting it.

A great early winter scene with so much warmth coming from it despite the cold. The balance in color and light along with your perspective and creative composition make this image so pleasing to the eye.

As with many of your shots, this is a fine arts painting in light and color. Your patience and dedication are rewarded again with the capture of a moment in light and space and color. Beautiful.

This is excelent picture. I thing the light (sun) is making it so uniq. The statement "To bee on the right place in the right moment" is true here and you manage it.

I like your portfolio very well and I visit it offen for inspiration. Thank you very much. Pavel

I don't usually comment on digital images (though I am not anti-digital, I just spend my time on the film stuff), but being a mountain landscape person, this really caught my eye. The ponderosa and jeffery pine forest are almost always beautiful, but rarely lend themselves to photographic beauty. This one caught it. Well done.
