msoskil 0 Posted November 21, 2009 As the tide goes out on the Schoodic Peninsula in Acadia National Park, ME, this waterfall effect is created as the ocean water cascades down the rocks on the shore. I used a polarizing filter and long exposure to capture this effect. Crits/Comments welcomed. Thanks! Link to comment
stp 6 Posted November 21, 2009 I don't understand the rationale for holding the camera at an approximately 45-degree angle. What's the purpose, and what is accomplished by that? Link to comment
clayton_m 4 Posted November 22, 2009 I can relate to the questions from the previous commentor. In this image, the flow of falling water is a strong signal to the viewer about the orientation of the image. I believe you would have to make a very abstract composition in order for that strong signal about the "correct" orientation to not be distracting to the viewer. Just my two cents.
