Beautiful shot,I remember being in the hospitals of south Africa in the early 60,s when these people were not even allowed a bed,they lay in the corridors with two chairs pushed together for a bed.

I considered a possible square crop here (below the window), but in the end, I prefer your choice as it is ;-) -- The window frame adds much to the overall graphics perceived in your photo, I now believe. More than a portrait, there is a story here. You seem very tuned in to what you are doing and how you wanted to present this boy. His surroundings add depth to the photo. I love what's going on with the window above him, adding texture and a bit of mystery.
