I had to create the flames as I could find a match at the studio. I have always wanted to try my hand at a still life image and I was cleaning up the studio and just grabbed a few things that I could tie into my thoughts on time. I thought the rose could represent just a matter of time until it blooms completely or just a matter of time until it wilts and dies. I guess how one sees this will depend on one's outlook. I'm a "glass half full" kind of girl so I think it's just a matter of time until it's in full bloom!
