Source of Bagmati River, Kathmandu

It was a long dream of mine to visit again the source of the Bagmati

river, high up on the Shivapuri Mountain north of the Kathmandu valley

and to capture something of the abundance of life energy of this holy

site. Karl

Dear Alex, nice to hear from you. The Bagmati source is very close to the top of Shivapuri, the highest mountain directly in the North of Kathmandu. It is hidden deep in the forest at the right side of the summit. There are some Sadhus living close by in a hut. It is a magic place and I am very happy with the photo I was able to take from this site, but it should be seen in all details on a 2 meter print.

It would be worth to show a series of photos of the river from the source to the cascades above Sundarijal, to Pashupatinath temples and then to the most shocking and disgusting dumping sites along the southwestern part of Kathamndu. Kind regards. Karl
