Nice little Puppy posing for me on a black background.

PS I wonder if you know how much dust there can be sitting in a black

fur?

Super Black on black and great detail, I would also wonder if a touch of light on the back ground or edge light would look good to add some separation or specular highlights to the side. Lovly eyes, nose and ears. Very good.

Hi Bente - This is a standout in my opinion, of a difficult (wiggling puppy) subject and a difficult exposure to nail down. I like especially the touch of color in the eyes. Well done.

I do think there would be a couple of nice variations possible with this shot - one (as Carl suggusts) would be to lighten the background to achieve some edge separation - and another would be a straight b&w treatment.

I appeciate the dusty coat problem on dark coats - also goop in the eyes and drool on the jowls!

Regards, David

Bente.... A real scroll stopper! Black on black is so difficult and you've done well here. My only comment would be that either this young pup has stuck it's nose where it shouldn't (which they are very capable of doing) or a few whiskers have been lost in processing.... regardless, excellent shot... You sure did a great job with the lighting, great exposure and details. The model is top notch as well.

Congratulations

This is excellent. I will have to try this technique on Jett. (see my portfolio). (You might need a little more light in the top of the photograph). How did you do this?

Bente, this has got to be the best "black dog" treatment that I have seen. It is impressive on medium, but it is incredible on large.

This is a stunningly beautiful portrait. I want to reach out and scratch those ears and rub that head. I love the black background and the way the light separates the puppy from the background.

Whoever has this dog and photograph has something to treasure forever.

Highest compliments on this one.
