marcadamus 1 Posted November 10, 2009 Snow has returned to the Northwest in great abundance over the past week. 3-5 feet of new up and down the Cascade range. I started out early Saturday and spent a day and a half snowshoe-backpacking to be in this beautiful alpine landscape, high in the Three Sisters wilderness above Chambers Lakes, when the storms finally cleared. The clearing was brief but memorable. It felt as if I was the only person to have ever seen this landscape, and in a sense, I suppose I was. I returned late yesterday just in time to dig my car out of Forest Road 15 before it was burried until June. Thanks for your comments. Link to comment

davidclapp 0 Posted November 10, 2009 Well done Marc, you seem to be surviving the 'here come's Marc Adamus, lets sack his pictures to shit with 3/3s' jealousy bombing of late, long may it continue (not the bombing, the surviving, oh god I'll shut up) Great shot, really good colours, I just want to tip the camera down a fraction and bring in more of those lovely sweeping lines in the bottom centre, or crop off the top a little. None the less its very cool, so cool it's freezing. Link to comment
marcadamus 1 Posted November 11, 2009 Damnit....why did I have to put snowshoe tracks all over that foreground...always, always find the perfect composition BEFORE actually walking through the scene. Link to comment
hopsage 0 Posted November 11, 2009 Man, this makes me homesick. I always loved this spot (south of Camp Lake, on the way up to Carver) best of all the Cascades, and you've got some magnificent light and form captured here. The way the wind-carved ridges in the snow capture that last sunset light is really magical. Thanks for the taste of Home. Link to comment

marko_panger 0 Posted November 11, 2009 Rather than commenting on this photo I prefer watching it ! Really stunning light conditions. This is my favorite light - clearing storm around sunrise. As for the composition I'm wondering if it was possible to include more foreground snow by sacrificing a little bit of sky. Those natural shapes in the snow are fabolous. Great effort and final result ! Marko Link to comment
