blueviews 0 Posted September 17, 2002 What do you think? Should the background be darker, I lightened it a lot from the original. Thanks Link to comment
dominiquedodge 0 Posted September 17, 2002 I find the photo excellent. The background does not distract from the main subject but adds a feeling of embrace around the flower. The only thing I would so is crop a slither off the bottom edge. Very, very nice. Thanks you. Link to comment
geoffeldridge 0 Posted September 17, 2002 Agree with the above .. an excellent photo. Black and white has worked particularly well here along with the shades and tones. Maybe a little bit of balance has been lost (as per the above cropping suggestion) but who knows what was above. The kind of flower photo I would aspire to take with a larger format camera. Well done. Regarding your critique request which I have just seen. I like the background as you have presented. Link to comment
alex_khakhalev 0 Posted September 22, 2002 You are shooting on Kiev-88. My buddy in Russia use to have one. About picture - I prefer even brighter background and a bit more out of focus. But it is matter of choice. You have beautiful Portfolio! Link to comment
peterkonzuk 0 Posted September 26, 2002 What a lovely shot...M..... re your question, I think you've got the tones right. I'm no bw printing expert but I think this would be an excellent application for some bleach toning. Link to comment
joseph_davidchik1 0 Posted October 7, 2002 Very nice contrast. I agree that burning down the background would bring out the flower. One thing that is tough as a viewer is that, I am looking at this via a computer screen. I know for a fact that it would be so hard to tell if you used a warm tone paper vs cold. Or RC vs Fiber. Or even if this was printed at all (scanned). Link to comment
blueviews 0 Posted October 8, 2002 It certainly was printed, rather warmly on fiber paper. Quite nice in my (not so humble opinion).Bill Link to comment
andrew_ramberg 0 Posted October 17, 2002 I Think it is just cropped a little to tight around the top. Link to comment
