jerrymat 5 Posted November 2, 2009 A darling little subject. Your exposure is good, but tonal adjustment is poor - her fairly dark skin has lost all texture by being allowed to slip into the darkest grays. Film was a better choice for this type of subject because the shadow side of the characteristic curve was curved. In digital it is linear and the dynamic range is also more limited than black and white film. Computer processing can help. I did a very quick change to show you what is possible in Photoshop. Don't think of my upload as final but just suggestive of what you can do. Regards, Jerry Link to comment
hh253 0 Posted November 2, 2009 first of all thank you for your kind comments and the elobaration in PS. I started with Digital just two years ago coming from film and especially BW, which you could adjust in the dark room. PS is very time consuming and I have still a lot to learn. Anyhhow it is nicer to stay in front of a monitor rather than in the darkroom. Can you explain also to my private e mail, what you did for modifying. Thanks Heinz Link to comment
