jtersteege 0 Posted November 1, 2009 Compliments Marinko, looks almost like e real 'Vermeer' (famous Dutchpainter, famous for his use of light-in case you doný know him-). Beautifully done, regards Jaap. Link to comment

jerrymat 3 Posted November 3, 2009 I like the idea but feel that the expanse of black is too great. Black carries very little photographic information and serves best as a contrast to the main part of the picture. Here it is similar to stammering in a sentence because one does not know what to say. I would crop it tighter. Regards, Jerry Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted November 11, 2009 Marinko, Andrea is a pretty girl. Your skin tones are very good. Her dress goes very well with the colors of the background and the mood. I like the harsh window light -- it creates an interesting feeling to your photograph. The lighting and location seems a bit sinister, but her expression seems quite calm. Her pose is very nice. You have her turned at an angle to the camera which makes her appear thin, feminine and graceful. For a portrait she seems a bit far away. You might have cropped around the edges to bring her closer to the viewers. As just a photograph, I rather like her being a bit far away. If you didn't have her leaning on her right hand her right shoulder wouldn't have been pushed up into the air so far. It should be on the window sill only for looks and balance. I do wish there wasn't that chunk of light on her left shoulder. It does draw attention. You should have tilted the picture so that the vertical lines in the photograph were vertical. Everything, including Andrea, seems off balance. The advertising for your web site -- www.marinko.org -- is not part of the photograph. It is quite acceptable to put your name and date on the mat. A better location for advertisements would be on the back of the photograph. Nice shot, Mark Link to comment
