those of us who have never surfed probably cannot understand the complexity of this image. this is a fantastic picture!

If you could increase the exposure on the surfer he might stand out even more?

 

And no, I have never surfed or even shot surfing pics so from that point of view I have absolutely not clue about the complexity involved :)

You went a little too hot on the brightness of the white water. You have some large patches where the detail is lost. You may be able to recover it to some degree with gentler processing. Your timing was very good and the low water angle gives it much more drama.
