Janis-- Actually, your use of light here, to me, creates a very different feel than the way I used it in my portrait of Andrew. While similar, yours gives me a much warmer sense, one very appropriate and flattering of the child's beauty and innocence and youth. The lighting in mine feels more stabbing and somewhat intentionally harsh. I think a lot of the warmth in yours, obviously, is from the smile and overall expression, but also the color goes along with that as well. I'd keep this one in color for that reason.
