carl_oberg 0 Posted April 2, 2007 I worked on Garden Island for a couple of years (04/05) and I never saw it look quite like this. I assume this is a mirage taken from down your neck of the woods?...By the way, I have just spent over two hours thoroughly enjoyig your portfolio. You are experiencing more of Australia and the world than most us could dream to do.....keep on shootin' tex! I especially love your bird photography - obviously a passion (and where I hope to get to eventually!). Thanks again. Hooroo. Link to comment
sambal 0 Posted April 4, 2007 Hi Carl, yeah, usually when it is hot the differences in air temperatures in a vertical direction may cause the air to act like a lens. At very hot days & nights we might even see Rottnest Island (80 km from here as the seagull flies) upside down above the horizon, the lighthouse - also upside down - emitting its signals. As for my passion for birds - I think it's the simple fact that they are present nearly everywhere. Many of them sit often for a while motionless, those are the most photographed ones, of course;-) Would I have been in areas where monkeys would abound, I guess you'd think I had a passion for monkeys... Thanks very much for your comments & appreciation. Cheers, Sam. Link to comment
