hiro_aki 0 Posted August 19, 2005 This picture probably suffers from the lack of "Originality",but I find it kind of soothing. What do you think? Link to comment
marco_ruggiero 0 Posted August 19, 2005 Hiro, Leonardo Da Vinci painted just another woman with "La Gioconda" yet it was The Mona Lisa. Even when you photograph ordinary images the are anything but lacking in originality. Looking at this photo, the location of the tree, the mountain and the cloud in the sky that forms almost a perfect triangle between the mountains. Those to me are originals. I have seen many similar shots and they are not originals. As to soothing, no kidding, I look at it and dream of places like this to take a great rest. Good shot. Also Thanks again for your interest and comment on my portfolio. Having seen yours I am the one that is flattered. I have so much to learn technically, and hopefully with the help of artists such as yourself, I will continue to improve and learn in this crazy passion that we all share. Thanks again. danielwoodrum 0 Posted August 19, 2005 hiro, i'm betting you took this over on the west side of the park, with the headwaters of the colorado river running right beside your feet. i was just there a couple of weeks ago. it's a great place, and i think you found a better shot here than i did, so you get points for originality from me! -daniel Link to comment

sef1664877429 0 Posted August 19, 2005 It is very soothing. The shape of the cloud almost seems to be toning down the sharp angles of the mountains, making them more organic, like the tree. Produces a nice balance, and lots of room to breath. The shadow along the bottom gives the viewer a little shade to rest in. Criticisms? You could probably afford to crop a slither off the top, doesn't need much, keep plenty of space. And the frame seems quite heavy and complicated for such a gentle atmosphere. Maybe something simplier? Link to comment
hiro_aki 0 Posted August 19, 2005 I'm very surprised to find such positivecomments and questionably high ratings. Thanks everyone! Thanks Marco for interesting comments andcompliment. I'm regularly checking your photos.Haha! Daniel, you nailed it! Right. This isthe picture took at the Coyote Valley Trail. As you know, this place is very nice and youcan spot lots of animals. Moreover, it's veryeasy to access, so this place is usually crowded. So I went there before 8am. That's whythe shadow of the tree is so long in the picture. Thanks for the comment, Daniel.Lancelot, thanks for the comment. I'm gladthat you like the atmosphere rather than findit unbearably boring.Muchas gracias Julio. Mi espanyol no bueno.pokito pokito. denada. gracias. denada.mamasita. siesta. etc.Stephen, thanks for pointing out there'sa bit too much room. I didn't notice tillyou told me. I really appreciate it and I completely agree with you. I'm glad thatI posted this and I'm a little sad that Ididn't notice it myself. But let me take itas learning process. Also the framing... Yeah. I'm just very lazyabout this. I know I should think about itfor each picture, but I always make the sameframe. I hope I have more time to play with pictures. Thanks again. Link to comment
