Personally I like the phto, except for the fact that I couldn't see the boy's smile

from this angle... Please tell me what you think.

Hi Ken (a fellow Ken!). I really like this photograph. The high perspective is a clever technique and suits this picture very well. The only suggestion I would make is that the boy and the elephant could have done with some fill-in flash. The boy is just a little dark and we can't see any detail in the elephants' face. Apart from that, well done Ken-a nice moment!

Very good photo; it's so hard to catch a moment like this that tells a little story or conveys an emotion. It pulls you into the picture.

Hey thanks for your input, I love this pic I was very close to buying the lens you used. I goy the 28-135 IS instead. I love the perspective of this shot.

You are wellcome. Picking the 28-135 IS was probably a right choice if you are planning on traveling light. I brought it for the 24mm focal length.... f2.8 is a secondary variable for the decision. Thanks for your comment.

I think fill-flash would have turned this into a "cutesy" pic - a Hallmark moment. As it is, it has some compositional, conceptual, and emotional integrity: the image is interesting graphically, AND in terms of emotion.

Interesting catch, but I think that it's not so obvious... hmmm... May be some more details on shadows could help to understand ths story?
