I'm looking at this photo in the context of your other farm landscapes in your New Photos folder. I think you've done well to pull back in this scene, as the power/telephone lines in the closer shot really mar the image. That being said, the colors here are so muted, even given the cloudy day, that I'm not really drawn in. The composition appears decent insofar as you've divided things into thirds fairly well. But the shot lacks the interesting lines of, say, your foggy photo. The rows don't pop or create any sort of visual interest in the bottom third of the picture, and the clouds are not particularly interesting clouds. Thus, We have an average bottom third and an average top two-thirds. That means that my eye immediately turns to the farm buildings (note that it is not drawn to the buildings, but turns there for lack of anything else to interest it). And again, average farm buildings. This is probably coming across more harshly than I intend, but I prefer to be straightforward. It's an average sort of picture that you can show family and friends, who will likely say, "Hey, we know that place." But it's not going to hang on anyone's wall as art. The early morning fog shot is another story entirely...
