lofgreenimages 0 Posted August 12, 2005 This was composed with two exposures on the same shoot. I exposed for the subject and then the sky. I composed the two together in PS for this final image. I wanted the image to look as it did to my eye so I had to replace the blown out sky in the first exposure with the properly exposed sky in the second one. I was shooting fuji supria ASA 400 so there is a lot of grain but I think it adds to the mood of the image. Let me know what you think, please. Link to comment
donald_l_fackler_jr 0 Posted August 13, 2005 I agree, this is very well done, I love the grain in the image as it adds to the mood. Great pose and excellent image. Don Link to comment
maurik 0 Posted August 13, 2005 Excellent image and a great capture of the mood of the boy. 6/6 To my eyes the skin tones are a little off. I would suggest trying to get the color corrected using curves and the middle dropper. I attached an example with changed colors. Link to comment
maurik 0 Posted August 13, 2005 Colors changed slightly in "curves". I acknowledge though that it is very tricky to get skin colors looking natural. Link to comment
john falkenstine 1 Posted August 13, 2005 I agree with the skin tones being off. PS often tends to blueness, especially when there's lots of sky. I like the reposting above, but would even go to B/W Link to comment
lofgreenimages 0 Posted August 15, 2005 Thanks everyone. I did do a B/W one too and it does look great. I will work on the skin tones for a print. Link to comment
NickB 0 Posted March 27, 2006 This is a great composition. I was curious what it would look like with less blue and a more natural skin tone and played around with it a bit. I don't know if it is better or worse - just a slightly different take on a great shot. Congrats. Link to comment
