The people in the group are probably in reality at nothing wrong, but it looks very sinister anyway. Is it a staged photo? If not, what were they doing? Tomb Raiders Trade Union meeting?

I appreciate all the comments. The photo was not staged, and I have no idea who these men are or what they were doing. They may have been a group of tourists or even local people with some relation to the cathedral.

That is really amazing what a place, light and a bit of imagination aided by the right photographic approach can do with a simple group of people.

I'm putting my response here because this photograph is amazing, perfect tones, I love the huge looming cross over the little men, and great lighting. If you dont mind me asking, where is this church?
