Sometimes simple is better. I loved the pattern of the bricks, the solitude of the little window

and the touch of green in the lower left. Comments welcome as usual!

This rather isn't simple. Though I like pattern. Stuff in left lower part is distracting for me. Colors are too saturated, again, for me. Distortion of wall and window is strange, though probably better than straight lined, for me at least. I'd say pattern of bricks make this piece. And, default size is too large to publish and see, as viewer has to scroll - many people usually skip that pics because it's abusing to scroll.

Interesting comments Andrejs. I did up the saturation just a little bit but the bricks were already quite vivid looking due to the evening (golden hour) sunlight falling on them. Also note that if you're on a PC the gamma is probably making it look more vivid than it is. I edit my images on a Mac so the colors look closer to print and somewhat less saturated on my monitor. Personally, I like the green in the lower left as it gives the composition a little balance. The angle of the wall adds interest to my eye as well. I agree that shooting it dead on would have drawn some of the luster out of the image.

I like the pattern and the relation of the window to the wall. I think that the lower left tends to be lost in the wall. I think without it may still be a good image. Contrast and colors also are very good.

Good image.

Chris, if anything you included or changed here works for you, then it is right choice. Look at this after months and decide for youself if you leave as it is or would change, and what you would change, and why. Then this will be your picture not collective work of pnetters.

Pnutters? LOL!

Anyway, I liked the slanted bricks, the color, the green swatch at lower left. I agree, this is your pic though, and God forbid that you should be confined by a textbook or bend to meet our taste rather than your vision. Good, bad or in between, true innovation is begun by breaking the rules and refusing to keep the status quo! BRAVO!

I agree with somenbody above, this is not simple.

I like the patterns ,some bricks seem blue like the window, this add more match to the composition.

It is a brillinat photo but if I have to say somenthing is that the inclination of the window is a little distracting is like out of symmetry.

But I can image this was (or seems) some house backyards and you could not approach.

Somentimes simple things can be difficult.
