markboyer 0 Posted August 8, 2005 I really like this. It's very O'Keefesque. The composition, showcasing the leaves, is fantastic. Nice job. Link to comment
cjrupp 0 Posted August 8, 2005 Donna, I like this image, simply done. Great composition and just enough light. Link to comment
poutnik 1 Posted August 8, 2005 I, on the other hand, would prefer a bit more light, otherwise the softness and composition is just beautiful... Jiri Link to comment
bentes_world 0 Posted August 8, 2005 I really like this very much Donna. The lines in the green leaves bring out the simplicity and purity of the flower in a nice way. Very well composed. The word comming to my mind when first viewing this is harmony. Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted August 8, 2005 As all your work Donna, your skills are "shouting"... beautiful work here, original composition, and I'm glad to see you posting again. and a big thank you! Pnina Link to comment
lgreene 0 Posted August 8, 2005 Great composition-the two leaves segmented on the left look like one leaf looped around.Very eye catching. Link to comment
arraga 0 Posted August 9, 2005 I hate the usual kitsch 'pretty flower in black background', which usually shows competency with flash, and not much more. This is something else. Composition is excellent. Lightning, perfect. It's diffused and grazing, revealing textures exquisitely, and creating an almost tactile sensation. There's a chiaroscuro effect in the leaves which I also love. Congratulations. Link to comment
brad_crane 0 Posted August 10, 2005 I really like this photo. The one change I would make would be to broaden the tonal range. I hope you don't mind, I took the liberty and did a quick levels adjustment. Link to comment
donnaalbers 0 Posted August 10, 2005 Hi everyone, thank you for your comments. Brad, I like your variation on this photo . . . I think it works very well . . . I was trying to emphasize the leaves by keeping the contrast more subdued. . . . Link to comment
poutnik 1 Posted August 10, 2005 Donna, the adjusted version works much better for me - that was what I had in my mind. I think that the common curves on the leaves and the flower make up for the brightness difference... Jiri Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted August 13, 2005 Beautiful composition of the white lily surrounded by the large leaves. Gives a feeling of being protected. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 29, 2005 Donna, This is beautifully composed. I have some of these growing in my garden. They're in bloom right now. You've inspired me to try shooting them. Since everyone is casting a vote, I too think the original is a bit dark. I might prefer a version between the original and Brad's well done adjustment. Link to comment
