wilsontsoi 0 Posted August 8, 2005 Thanks, man. Yes, had that monochrome, non-blur done up, too. Didn't think it was enough when I was playing around initially. Okay, next time we'll go Zig istead of Zag. Yes, there was a bit more room to the left, but was occupied by an adult figure which I don't feel is appropriate to include. BTW, are you still based in Southeast Asia (Malaysia, in particular)? I remember following you since you still had your full last name instead of "G." ^_^ Link to comment
mg 0 Posted August 9, 2005 Then cropping makes sense of course. Thanks for your reply. Link to comment
jimg 0 Posted August 9, 2005 I like the treatment you've chosen for your image. I think the only weakness is having the foot cut off on the boy closest to the right edge of the frame. Other than that I think this has a great atmosphere to it. Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted August 9, 2005 ah, Wilson, the blurred version surely renders the dreaminess of children's world ( and age). I am a lover of colors, but in this case, this version is my favorite. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted August 9, 2005 Okay ... now that I've had a chance to look at the original and some other ideas, I come back to the original post. I do enjoy your sepia toning and the soft blur. Hope the boys had a wonderful day at the beach!! Link to comment
harnstrom1 0 Posted August 9, 2005 Joyful and glad. I think the mix of clarity and softness works fine. The sepia tone is lovely and the shining bright parts makes a lot. But first of all the boys joy, action and poses makes the impression on me. Well done. Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted August 14, 2005 Thank you all for your feedback. Understandably some likes the soft feel and some prefers the sharp look. I'll just leave this as is. ^_^ Link to comment

raddatzphoto 0 Posted August 20, 2008 Interesting study. IMO, B&W versions take a back seat to the expressive color original. Link to comment
lizweisiger 0 Posted August 24, 2008 As soon as I spotted this image, I put it in my favorites. I love it just the way it is because I "get a feeling" from looking at it - a nice nostalgic emotion of my childhood, and a little regret that it is so far behind me now. I love images which make me think and/or feel. This one does the job perfectly. Link to comment
