chad_goldman 0 Posted August 7, 2005 The leaf isn't big. The macro on the 5400 has a very short working distance. The focal area was about 1" away. The front of the leaf probably less than a half inch which would not allow it to be in focus. My camera only goes to f7.X, depending on what the zoom is set in, so if I backed away and zoomed in on it would have opened up, and, lose DOF. Lose-lose situation. Look at the pic of the pine cone, that was taken at full digital zoom (4X) it turned out grainy. I have a whole folder on my hard drive that is full of great looking photos that I took on this trip. Unfortunately, they are so grainy at normal viewing, they have become so less than good. It was my first time really using the Digital zoom, typically i avoided it. Now, I know why. Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate the time and effort. Your comment is one of the most helpful I have recieved on PN, I'd would be very grateful if you could look at some other photos. Thanks again cg Link to comment
ben maddox 0 Posted August 7, 2005 Nice shot Chad! I think the shadow adds something to it. It might be just a little to much. But I still think it looks great! Most everything else I see has already been said. Keep them coming! Link to comment
