kelly_perl 0 Posted November 11, 2001 David--this is obviously a very personal picture to you, but you also make it personal and meaningful to other people too. I'm Jewish so I know the background and what a big event completion of a Torah is. The excitement of that completion is encapsulated in this photo and the other I rated. More techie--I like the subdued lighting; the composition is natural and unassuming. Good shots. Link to comment
maria_s. 1 Posted November 11, 2001 Great stuff David -- not only an interesting topic but you managed also to capture the amazing dedication and labor going into the project of rewriting the Torah. Link to comment
iwmac 0 Posted November 11, 2001 The potential of a very good photograph is spoiled here by the cropping off of the pen and the text at the bottom of the frame. I can only assume that you had a scanning problem, as you should not have that happen with your camera. Can you rescan? You really need more more bottom space. Link to comment
al-bhans 0 Posted November 19, 2001 i agree with the above comment : what coud have been a great photo is somewhat ruined by a too short bottom. imagine it with a fifth additional of the height showing the book and the writing and the pen runing on the paper... but still: the attitudes of the characters make it a good shot Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted December 24, 2002 David, My favorite of the series also. Great lighting. Monochrome rules here as I think colour removes some of the impact. I echo Ians remarks about the cropping. Best, LM. Link to comment
