Beautiful composition, unusal lighting. How did you do this?

I used a fill-in flash from the right side : under-exposed the flash and used a warm filter + soft box

I enjoy this forum because of what I learn. I would not have thought to use an off camera fill pointing slightly off center on the subject. This gives it a very natural look. Very clever. I will try it. Thanks for sharing. Your portfolio is very impressive. Keep it up.

Must have been nice to have such a willing subject. At first glance it looks like the background is in almost black and white. The bright contrast of your subject is what makes this piece special.

Great idea... that lighting is wonderful. Buildings seem a bit crooked but still WONDERFUL. Seems we've been to many of the same places in Asia...even shot the same window near Inle Lake.

Love your Thai boat shot also. Makes me miss Thailand even more!
