where you on a boat when shooting this? The picture is blurry and may be caused by movement. You should have used a faster film and/or a wider aperture. Most of the subject matter of the shot is far enough away (and the messy tree on the right needs cropped out anyway) that you could shoot at F2.8 or F4 open and keep everything in focus.

William, I was actually standing on a bridge going over the canal. As for the lack of sharpness, I think it has more to do with a poor scan than the actual focus (as I became slightly paranoid about the shot and checked the negs...).
