petter_smeby 0 Posted November 10, 2001 Hunza Valley, Pakistan. Standing at almost 5000m, surrounded by 7000m and 8000m high peaks. Link to comment

crosstone 0 Posted November 12, 2001 You are the man. To capture that photo, AND to have hiked up there! Beautiful photo, wished I was there! Link to comment
chris_browne 0 Posted November 12, 2001 Cool shot! The line of the ridge cutting through the silhouette is a little, I'm not sure, distracting? Mountain haze is present, but not much you can do without heavy filtration. Link to comment
michael_schweiger 0 Posted November 13, 2001 Great use of a silhouette. Whilst composure and posing is not perfect, I'm not sure that I could do better at that altitude! Very effective image, as are the rest of the photos in this folder. Link to comment
latif 0 Posted December 21, 2001 Petter, I simply was mesmerized by your India portfolio. Expecting some more photos soon on Pakistan as well... . Link to comment
birds so fine 0 Posted February 8, 2002 At the top of the world's big peaks you are still worried about the hardest part- surviving the descent before the weather changes. Most times people just document the planting of the flag with the climbers close by. This image of the climber at some distance means a longer lens was carried up the mountain - that is hardly ever done. The composition and lighting means the photographer was as cool atop as on the ground- just incredible. The composition itself giving the greater space in front of the climber revealing world class peaks is astonishing. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted July 8, 2004 A truly powerful image. I prefer this one over the one with a wider angle, since the climber position is nicely balanced by the impressive peaks in the background. Cheers, Link to comment
