The horizon is at a slant, I wounder if the ground was just at a slope because the phone pole looks pretty vertical. But anyway, what a great photo. I'm loving the sense of an old fashion time. The contrast is excelent! Very good work here!!

Just FYI... I needed a higher point of view... My hassie has the "chimney" and I am only 5'10", so I had to take this shot holding the camera upside down... If you had a chance to try it once, you will see how hard it is to keep the camera straight:) Horizon might be slant- Meteor crater is just to the right of the pole and the edges of it are raised a 100 ft or so. I would not trust the poles... they are all over the place and I do not see one that is perfectly vertical.. :) regards.

Yea I agree, after a second long stare, I notice that the poles look pretty old and warped to hell. I only ask about the ground being at a natural slope because I'm from southern california and the deserts out there have random hills where the ground kind of slopes up to it. This almost looks like a california desert. Hope I didnt offend you with my comment. I was only curious to know. Often I will be so cought up in the moment of a good shot that I find myself not caring whats going on in the background.

EXCELLENT! Great light, mood, composition, toning... Well, I love it! 7/7

This photo suggests a whole story, and my imagination immediately runs off to fill in the plot. I have taken some good photos with the Hassy raised overhead as well, to gain height as you did. Don't worry about the trolls--it's probably envy. :)

I keep wondering how long this car has been sitting there. How did you manage to get anyone interested to go out there with you in that heat?

One very good shot. I have no problem with the horizon. The pole is straight. I too have tried the Hassie upside down. Not easy by any means

Aesthetics are as good, or even better than the other one, but I think the other one has a nicer touch of dark humor. This one would therefore "only" be the second best for me. Regards.

Just saw your photos on photoblink and googled you to see others. Nice work. Looks like the princess is waiting for her ride. Maybe her cell phone doesn't work out in the desert.
