I see from your portfolio that you were stalking these critters. This one is one of your best. I imagine you lying on the ground waiting for the right moment. Well, you got it!

Thank you very much Ransford. You are right, I was actively on the prowl looking for these guys. It took a while. And I really was in a pretty low (and not terribly comfortable) position when I finally got lucky. :)

Great idea! My calendar wouldn't have any winter photos on it. January would have a hot desert scene to warm me up!

When it gets to -20 degrees I normally start wishing it would warm up myself. But all things considered I am pretty sure I would take January in the Rockies to July in the Sonoran desert. I lived just outside Phoenix until I was 16 years old and the summers there have to be experienced to be believed. Its miserable and then some.

I do agree with you there. I'm getting less heat tolerant with age :)
