poliquin 0 Posted July 25, 2005 Great lighting, exposure, framing. I love the water reflections too. Sadly, I think it would be better without the stars. They're a bit distracting and first hit me as dust specs. 6/6 Link to comment
mjerabek 0 Posted July 25, 2005 Very, very nice picture. And I like it with and especially with the stars - they give the picture more natural and at the same time a sort of a sci-fi look (Oh, la la - is it really possible to to achieve such a thing, such an incredible mixture? Oh yes, indeed, as this photo demonstrates.) Link to comment
poliquin 0 Posted July 25, 2005 I can move to Michal space and feel the 'sci-fi' if I think about it and go through the reasoning chain that it's probably a multi-second exposure and those are star tails .. and that's nice. But all that somehow forces my right brain out of enjoying the greater beauty of the main image (I don't know how my right brain works since it refuses to reveal this). For me, I need a little stronger astronomical hint .. perhaps a moon sliver .. to get the 'sci-fi' feel. As I write this I get that feeling a bit more when I look at the image at reduced size. malboniz 0 Posted October 20, 2005 Here you have a great subject and a wonderful idea of how to best capture it (long exposure and partial reflection). However, the line of the horizon is in direct competition with the line of the structure. Perhaps using a 1:2 vertical aspect ratio would better emphasize the depth and symmetry of this structure. This way of cropping also creates a nice tonal balance - dark anchors at top and bottom with graduated tones in between. I agree that the stars have to either be eliminated or emphasized. Criticism aside, you have a nice eye. I see that you have matched up the horizon line with the darker markings at the base of each buttress. Well done! Link to comment
fredon 0 Posted October 23, 2005 Amazing outer space landscape. The long exposure suits perfectly to the composition! A great atmosphere! Link to comment
