Nice color Steve and sharp also. Dof is great for 300mm. How far away were you? I'm thinking of the 300 f4 IS as my next lens. Pretty good stuff,Bill

Thanks for the feedback Bill. I recently purchased the 300/4 IS after reading several good reviews on this site, and I love it. It is noticably sharper than the 70-200/2.8L plus 1.4 tc I was using previously.

 

I checked the data and this shot was taken at f8. Hard to guess how far away I was, but there was a large sand trap between me and the track. I would guess it was somethig like 35 to 40 metres - maybe a little more.
