I took this picture no more than 5 minutes before I received a good

lashing of rain, so had to work quickly. I'm concerned again about

the darkness but the redeeming feature for me is that there is this

concentration of light on the subject estuary. Because it's dark I

think it's best viewed large and with your room lights off.

As ever, I'd very much welcome your views and comments and if you've

time, please do browse around my other pictures here.

My thanks to everyone.

Phil,

I love the shot it's one you do not capture everyday. You were in the right place at the right time and ready to shoot. I think the darkness is awsome, I can almost feel the photo as well as see it. Keep it dark. The light in the middle draws your eye to it. Thank you for sharing the beauty.

Having been subjected to Welsh weather for 3 years, this captures the brooding atmosphere extremely well; I think this is a great shot - well done; it is by no means too dark!

Great scenery again. Gives me a hard to remove grin when I think about the fact that I'll probably be visiting Wales by the end of may to do a lot of shooting.

This photo gives a wonderful impression of the subtle colours and textures that abound in Wales, particularly when the light is overcast (which happens a lot).

I like the fact that the river winds away into the distance, and is only a small component of the image, hemmed in by hills of many shapes and sizes. Brooding Cadair Idris off to the left is shrouded in cloud while there is a hint of sunlight (a ray of hope?) at the far end of the estuary. An atmospheric portrayal of a wonderful place.

Phil I left a very long comment and something happened with PN and it is gone. I have a sprained shoulder so I will not try to write it all again. Great shot, I love it.

This entire folder is acting as a beautiful, effective travel brochure. I've always wanted to travel to Wales to see the land of my ancestors, but there is a twinge of fear in me that says my own eyes wouldn't capture the beauty of the land as well as your lens. It's photos like yours that make me at once want to become the best photographer that I can be while wanting to throw all of my gear away out of despair. Please, take it as a compliment when I say that you make me sick.
