This is a close-up view of the monolithic-chariot in the compound of the Vittalaswami Temple, which had been carved out of a single piece of huge granite in course of the 15th century A,D.

Does the phgotograph throw any new light on the intricate artistic

sensibility of the artisans of the Vijayanagara Empire?

Utpal - brings back fond memories of my visit to this place. There's a certain haze in the image. I would consider also desaturating the image and turning it into a black and white.

Aperture (the magazine) published a series of images from Vijayanagar - all in B&W. Beautiful work and inspiring.

I tried to play with the image but I wasn't happy with the results. Something you might also consider in terms of composition is to off center the chariot. In other words you might consider placing the chariot further to the right

in the image.
