pnital 36 Posted July 23, 2005 Visiting Vienna, a modern city which is surrounded with a ring ( double meaning) of the past.Monumental buildings and churches in different artistic styles like Gothic, Barok, Rokoko, full, but full of statues scene, angels, flowers decorations. all of them scenes telling the glory/story of the past. And the arts, music, theatre, are as well based on many of creators ,belonging to the past. My folder is a photographic impressions of the city. Thanks for your thoughts. Pnina Link to comment

mspanakis 0 Posted July 23, 2005 Hilarious! the tough guys looking at the soft girls... why did you leave the blue bar at the bottom and didn't crop it out? and why did you not centered the subject, since there is some intrinsic symmetry anyway? Link to comment
drybrain 0 Posted July 23, 2005 well caught. those windows reveal more than they conceal. i agree though about the blue bar at the bottom - easy to fix. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted July 23, 2005 Great fun! ...and well seen too. The colours worked out nicely with the pink underwear going well with the grey stone. The blue bar is needed for balance but might be best desaturated to a grey. Link to comment
poutnik 1 Posted July 23, 2005 Very nice, the contrast and similarity put up here... Jiri Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted July 23, 2005 Nice idea and composition,Pnina. Why that blue line not cropped? Is it to balance with the Yellow line? Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted July 23, 2005 The blue bar is left as IMO it corresponds to the yellow , blue, black and brown upper lines, as well as giving the image some better depth. Manolis, I have left the massive wall on the left side in order to give a clue to the massivness of constraction. Ivan, yes it is humouristic, but has a message as well, seeing the figures side by side! Linda, thanks for stoping byThanks to all of you!! Pnina Link to comment
ada-ipenburg 0 Posted July 23, 2005 The expression on their faces is a bit grumpy but in the meantime they enjoy the view, I'm sure of it! Great shot Pnina!:) Link to comment
germainclaude 0 Posted July 23, 2005 There is more than humor in this image. Over the obvious graphic quality, there are several levels of reading. That's why it keeps my eye for a long time. Bravo Pnina!! Link to comment

paula grenside 0 Posted July 23, 2005 Pnina, I recall when you shot this; the light was not really ideal, but you caught it just right. Great contrast you've captured. Your eyes ( and camera) don't miss anything interesting.Crop out the blue. Link to comment

jim kerr 0 Posted July 23, 2005 Pnina, You obviously are getting started on an almost monumental task. Judging by the 1st 2 shots, this is to be quite a body of works, probably your "Vienna Portfolio" maybe....I will look in each day, since I would not want to miss any as soon as you post them....All the best....Jim Link to comment
