Bellissima, sembra un dipinto. Anche mi piace moltissimo l'ombra come inquadra il crocifisso. Io ho visto le tue foto, una specialmente fatta in Umbria. Dove? I parenti miei dalla mamma sono di Castiglione del Lago. Congratulazioni.

Although photos of the Crucifix are so common, this image transmits the mysterious symbol of faith so vividly and passionately. Complimenti.

Of all the pictures on the photonet page, this one stands out. The subject matter interests me, for one thing. Who among us has not experienced, for better or worse, the effects of religion? I like the composition, too, with your creation of a square within a square. I also like the way in which the crucifix bleeds into darkness. And who could miss, or not appreciate, the "echo" of the cross in the shadow on the wall? Your use of negative space suggests the mystery--darkness--that often surrounds religion. And isn't light itself, which you have captured beautifully in your photograph, the subject of all photographs?

The picture has been taken in Cortona (Tuscany), but I am from Umbria and most of the pictures in my portfolio have been taken in Todi and other cities and villages nearby (Montefalco, Marcellano, Giano dell'Umbria, etc...).

Simple and yet so effective. An image which I honestly believe is the typical and sole example of how a crucifix should be depicted. The 'sombre' mood further adds to the message which this image is trying to portray - true faith! A truly magnificent shot.

Neat shot. I have a question, though. Does anyone else see human figures in the upper left window pane?
