drfl 0 Posted July 25, 2005 Please let me know what you think. This is a photo I have touched up in an order to improve it. Was this an improvement over the other one in my portfolio? In an effort to continually improve my photography I welcome any comments. Thank You Link to comment
minicucci 0 Posted July 25, 2005 Hi Derrold: First, let me say that this is a spectacular shot! Great framing and DOF. Two things bother me a bit, though. First, the foreground has a lot of color spill (blue) that does not look as it belongs there. Perhaps this was your intent? Second, the sky looks unnaturally dark (and red) given the exquisite sunlight on the mountain. Obviously, some of this color stuff is hard to judge via the Web. I assigned an sRGB profile to your image, which could be wrong. In any event, attached is a really, really rough example of the shot with the spill areas neutralized and the sky EV brought up to the mountain's brightness. Apologies in advance if this goes contrary to your intent. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 25, 2005 Very nice image. Though the Patricia's tweaked version pops out at me, I tend to like the original more. In the tweaked version, the sky seems too bright for an early morning shot but maybe the original can use brightening up. I think the blue in the foreground should be there because it's a reflection of the sky; too much blue, I don't know. Link to comment
