I purposely "blurred" the subjects and focused on the background to

try to add to the muted old-fashioned effect...not sure what I

Cute. Although out of focus :(

I see what you were going for with the focus, but I don't really see it as "old-fashioned," except in the sense that a lot more shots ended up like this back before auto-focus. Perhaps a diffusing filter might have worked out better.
