mdausin 0 Posted July 20, 2005 Taken with a 300mm lens on a D-rebel. I would have cropped it tighter, but there is too much detail lost to the heat (it was over 100 degrees that day.) I hope you like it. Link to comment
derekwin 0 Posted July 20, 2005 I like the lines here. But the deer is a bit too far away. Link to comment
my_pics 0 Posted August 22, 2005 I think in situations as this, composition pulls the trump card over detail. We ALL KNOW what a deer looks like!!! IMO, you have enough of the deer to make the scene realistic. Where I live there is an abundance of deer and they do not come around for portraiture. Even then, 300mm plus and a good blind would be of some help. What you have here is n excellent composition and, IMO, rather unique. Of course railroad pix abound...but not this layout. From the right corner is a soft curve that leads to three more curves in the far distance. Your compliance with the Rule of Thirds is a "class act." Further, regarding that rule, your deer is "spot on."Color scheme is simple and strong. Even the far distant trees bear the bluish hue of the sky just as we would see in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and Virginia.FWIW, I would be VERY proud to have a shot like this in my folder. Kudos to you, Mike. Link to comment
