gnashings 5 Posted July 19, 2005 This huge laker was truly an impressive sight going through that little channel without the aid of a tug or anythig! Please let me know what you think, as always, all comments welcome and appreciated! Thanks. Link to comment
k5083 1 Posted April 10, 2006 I love this! You made it look like the freighter is doing 100 km/h! I would retouch out the shadow of the street light fixture on the flank of the ship toward the left edge of the picture, though; it's a bit distracting. Link to comment
gnashings 5 Posted April 11, 2006 Thanks for the kind words - you brought a big smile to my face, as this was the effect I wanted! I also tried shooting the second bridge in motion, but my attempts were not to my liking - there is always next time, and now I have some tricks that I want to try! Link to comment
k5083 1 Posted April 11, 2006 As I look at this picture more, what really impresses me about it is that the people in the picture were still throughout the 30-sec exposure while the ship moved. That really enhances the effect. Not only a great composition but one that really calls memories for me as someone who grew up around the Detroit River and saw these same freighters all the time at a different stage of their journeys. gnashings 5 Posted April 11, 2006 You have to love fishermen - not a very movement intensive bunch, ehhehehe. Glad you enjoyed the picture! Link to comment
jeffrey_e 0 Posted September 29, 2006 It really does look like it's moving at 100 mph. You got a long exposure just right! Well done. Link to comment
