Duncansby Stacks

ian cameron

It's just about impossible to go further north in mainland Britain than this location. It is a great spot too, the cliff walk is wonderful and refreshing with vertigo inducing glimpses of the dragons tooth granite stacks being pounded by the incessant action of the sea. Summer is superb for vivid colour pink thrift bobs on the cliff faces themselves laden with fresh green grass and sea birds wheel around over azure and blue water. This was my favourite view point. Please feel free to visit my website for some other recent uploads, Transient light, There are some superb new shots at Timecatcher too.

Like a couple of dragons teeth the Duncansby stacks jut out of an

azure sea while the sun makes the cliff grasses and pink thrift glow.

Nice light across this well composed shot. The sands of time will one day run out for the stacks, but not for some time. You must have had one eye for the camera and the other for the edge of this dramatic drop. Nicely taken.
