davidmccracken 2 Posted July 16, 2005 I think for this to work everything needs to be in focus. The anticipation of a birdie is not being enthused by the golfer. Link to comment

I think that the photograph would have better impact if it were taken at a higher F/stop so that you would gain better depth of field in the image. Link to comment
claudegagne 0 Posted July 18, 2005 First, thanks for your comment. You may be right for the focus issu but in this circumstance, I could not get much more depht of field to get everything in focus. If I had taken a higher F/stop, I should have reduce my speed and the ball will have been very blurry, may be too blurry to be visible. I should have mention that my focal lenght was about 400mm on a monopod so I definitly need a fast shutter speed I may have rise the ISO to 1600 to gain about one or one and half F/stop (I was at ISO 640) I should have use the hyperfocal distance to focus between the golfer and the flag. I should... the next time. For the expression, this man may get birdies so often that he is not so exited. Also, since it was in a tournement with a few thousand dollar for the winner, he may not want to show much of his emotion until the end. Link to comment
