stevespencer 0 Posted July 14, 2005 that's the way to do it. The thumbnail doesn't do this justice. The image is sharp enough to me for that type of shot, and the perspective is really dizzying when the image is viewed at its full size. So you have some dramatic telephoto compression, and the fog adds to aerial perspective as well. The halos around the lights are good. As an overall composition this is very busy, but the eye sort of dissects it by going in to look at all the little details in it. I like it for all those reasons. I do wish the out of focus sign in the lower right corner was not there. -s Link to comment
smhickel 0 Posted July 14, 2005 Nice technique and exposure but not sure what main subject is or focal point of photo other than street. It is a nice study in night street activity. Link to comment
poliquin 0 Posted July 14, 2005 Thanks for the insightful comments .. The sign in the lower right is there because I was on the sidewalk leaning on a lamppost for support (there's no support in the middle of the street) .. maybe I'll bring my 12 pound tripod next time :-) True, there is no main subject .. I tried to crop it with the people crossing the street as the focus but most of the perspective went away .. Tom Link to comment
