vicki_huynh 0 Posted July 15, 2005 I like the shape of the tulips and the soft light. However, the pansies in the bacground are distracting - they are almost the same color as the tulips so it's hard for me to just focus on just one thing. Consider making the rest the background behind the tulips momochrome. Link to comment
my_pics 0 Posted July 15, 2005 Composition is compelling! Blooms and stems frame the large leaves which are well placed. Very, very good. Color scheme is good: basically three colors. A shallower depth of field would have blurred the busy background a bit more and isolated the blooms and foreground leaves. A slightly more blurred background would have earned a 7 for aesthetics. This greater DoF makes the scene a bit "busy." Orig/7; Aesth/6 (I really do think this picture is gorgeous.) Link to comment
my_pics 0 Posted July 15, 2005 I saw and rated this pic in the Rate Recent pages. Then after passing on to the next pic, I came back to this one for one more comment. The "lines" in this picture are good. There seems to be a radiation from the bottom right and I like the way the leaf at right parallels the edge of the frame and the stem to its left. :-) Link to comment
hiro_aki 0 Posted July 15, 2005 Vicki and Certo, thank you both for the comments. Those are the most useful comments that I've got so far in PN. I completely agree with you, Vicki, about the pansies. If I were the viewer and not the photographer, I would have noticed immediately. But I didn't notice this obvious mistake since you pointed out. Cetro, I was aware of the busy bg problem by myself. But it's very different when someone can actually point that out to me. I really appreciate, you guys! Link to comment
