erwin_wilde 0 Posted November 6, 2001 I know, it's just another sunset, but it's my first with a digital camera. A canon Powershot A20 was used about half an hour after sunset to capture this image. I took a few without the rail, but this one with it just looked more "complete". Braced on top of the car (this was on a bridge) was the only way to prevent camera shake without a tripod at about 1/4 second or so that the camera set itself at. Link to comment
alex_hawley 0 Posted November 6, 2001 Ervin, this looks just as good as if it were shot on velvia. Good job! Link to comment
tomsperduto 0 Posted November 6, 2001 I usually pass right over the scenics prefering PJ shots but yours caught me. Great colors, great image. Link to comment
sanford_dickerson 0 Posted November 6, 2001 This is a rather generic sunset. However, I like the saturation of the sky. It could have been improved greatly had you employed the "rule of thirds." (By placing your horizon line in the lower third of the photo you would have eliminated the distracting fence in the foreground and created a more dramatic picture. Because they have been photographed by just about every photographer in the world, capturing a truly striking and unique sunset is extremely hard. But don't let the discourage you, keep shooting. erwin_wilde 0 Posted November 9, 2001 I tried some shots without the railing, it just looked too boring. If I cropped some of the sky out it would fall more into line with the rule of thirds, but the full colour graduation would not be seen. Good advice though. Link to comment
