bentes_world 0 Posted July 9, 2005 An earlier upload turned monocrome and with a brush of blue. Tell me what you think? Link to comment

bille 0 Posted July 9, 2005 Very pleasent and well-composed backlit shot. The bluish tone is great. My only reservation is the somewhat busy and dark lower right part of the frame. BTW, where in DK did you find this scene? Regards, Michael Link to comment
john falkenstine 1 Posted July 9, 2005 There appears to be a manipulatation "spot" in the center of the image that is quite noticeable and distracting. Link to comment
markboyer 0 Posted July 9, 2005 Beautiful shot, Bente, just about perfect in every respect. It has a strong peaceful feel. Link to comment
gerry_bridge1 0 Posted July 9, 2005 Good use of light and shadow. I think colour would have spoilt this image. Link to comment
abintraphoto 0 Posted July 9, 2005 Looks like a nice peaceful place to ponder alone. Yep, it sure does ... Link to comment

someoneelse 1 Posted July 11, 2005 Against the light is also very beautifull Bente, but somehow this one gives it something extra must be the blue. and like Ken and Janet are saying this is realy a peacufull place to ponder. Els Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted July 11, 2005 I like the strong composition using the receding lamp posts etc and their shadows. The monochrome and high contrast gives it a look rather like a film poster. Nice atmosphere. Link to comment

jimmcnitt 0 Posted July 12, 2005 Haven't seen the original yet, but this one's is as cool and refreshing as a North Sea breeze on a hot summer's day. The long late-afternoon shadows -- it has to be late-afternoon, and not early-morning for the light to be this cool -- are to my eye what really make this scene "pop." The way you've composed this with the lines created by the posts, railings, benches, curbstones, etc., converging at a vanishing point somewhere on the horizon would make it a solid shot in any case. But the lampost shadows running counter to everything else add a perfect dissonant note. And, of course, I love the faint brush of blue! Venus was vonderful. Or was it was Mars? I'm always getting the two confused -- but they're both great places to visit, as long you eventually find your way home. Thanks for the kind and thoughtful welcome. --jim Link to comment

home page1 0 Posted July 12, 2005 Love the blue tint to this. You took an artisitic chance with this coloration and it works well. Very appropriately titled. Wonderful shadows and highlights. Well done, Bente. Link to comment
poutnik 1 Posted July 12, 2005 Comparing those 2 shots (color and toned), they are poles apart, yet both are beautiful in it's own way. And although they both depict the same scene I can not choose a better one of them, as each is so different. In the color version the dark area on the right is not so deep and distracting, which is my only remark... Jiri Link to comment
