Guest Guest Posted July 9, 2005 I don't know how you get these phenomenal closeups, but they are wonderful! This one is amazing! Link to comment
birteragland 1 Posted July 9, 2005 Thanks Kim, patience and perserverence, but the fact that I live in a jungle also helps. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 9, 2005 You must spend a lot of time crawling around with your face in the bushes for these! This one is definitely one of my favorites. Link to comment
stupski 0 Posted July 10, 2005 This is superior! Never seen one of these anywhere. Fabulous. What camera were you using? Link to comment

czphoto 0 Posted July 10, 2005 I hope never to see one! Holy cow, this thing is creepy! Like some sort of evil rotten stuffed-animal waiting to pounce. Very well done. Link to comment

JRX94 0 Posted July 13, 2005 Well, i think i'll consider moving my home to Australia. Did you heard of a cheap apartment or something, not too far from those fascinating insects you live with ? Link to comment
birteragland 1 Posted July 14, 2005 I have one at the back of my place,if you ever decide to come to Australia to do some photographing, you are welcome to use it, and it won,t cost you anything as long as you can put up with hundreds of croaking frogs an eccentric hubby and a crazy woman and of course all these great insects and bugs. birteragland 1 Posted July 15, 2005 Thank you for the kind comments, yes it was done with the new lens, I bought several lens, this one was done with the Tamron 180. Link to comment
JRX94 0 Posted July 15, 2005 Birte, i took good notice of your invitation. Beware, i might land someday in Australia with the 20D and the 100 mm ! I like bugs, and i don't object to crazy woman, so i've no hesitation... Tell me, is the 180 mm harder to use than a "smaller" macro lens ? I've read that dealing with DoF with this kind of lens is just hell. (Took me one full month to begin to tame my 100 macro). Link to comment
birteragland 1 Posted July 16, 2005 Yes it is hell, and its so heavy, I am still battling with it too,I have only had the thing about a month....but just started using it about three weeks ago...this moth stayed put for awhile and I was able to run in to get the tripod......and I meant it if you land in OZ you are welcome.
