seandepuydt 2 Posted July 7, 2005 This is what I would consider a classic view of the bluff overlooking Snail Shell Harbor, taken the same day as the "Worm's View." This is the best scan I could get, with minimal use of CS, and keeping true to what I remember seeing. Fayette is a historic "ghost town" located on the Garden Peninsula of Michigan. Once a small and profitable charcoal smelting operation used the Snail Shell harbor to transport ore to points further south. Link to comment
leighperry 0 Posted July 11, 2005 This looks like a great location Sean. Very graphic. I like the way you've structured this with the careful placement of poles. The muted colur palette is nice too. I'd probably lose a bit off the left since nothing much is happening there. Regards, Leigh. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted July 15, 2005 In my opinion the foreground is a bit busy. All the right low quarter is not very interesting, and in the opposite quarter, the reflection of the cliff in the water is hidden by the rocks. I think that if you had choosen these only three rocks as a foreground and move you two meters on the left to place them on the right, the result would have been much better. Link to comment
richardthompson 0 Posted March 12, 2009 Hi Sean, I found Fayette to be fascinating visually and historically. A note of interest was the swarm of bats that dove at me through the grove of trees coming off the peninsula at dusk. Albeit a little unnerving, they added to the whole charm of the place. A nice view of the harbor and bluffs you've captured here. Link to comment
