timo_inkinen 0 Posted November 11, 2001 This time I used a tripod with 50mm lens and 25mm extension tube to get really near (1:2) to these beautiful creations of nature. I think it's well worth loading the largest version here. Any comments and ratings, please? Link to comment
sandino 0 Posted November 11, 2001 Great shot. Very nice composition and colors. It would be nice to get more info on technical details (e.g. shutter speed, apperture, time of day, amount of light, etc.) Thanks, Rene Link to comment
timo_inkinen 0 Posted November 11, 2001 The shutter speed used here was about 1/4s, the lens aperture was set at F11 and the exposure took place about 9 AM in the winter morning (sun has risen about 8 AM). The sun was shining from left so that it didn't hit directly to this window and most of the light was coming from the bright blue morning sky near the sun. The background trees were mostly in the shadows, but the snow in the ground reflected light also there. The idea for this photo started from the glimmering sun in the window ice and the result became better as I focused the camera nearer and nearer :-) Link to comment
richard_lowery 0 Posted November 12, 2001 ---ditto on John's comment. Simply beautiful!!! Link to comment
bob_k 0 Posted November 12, 2001 This one is much better! I really like it! If you're going to try for perfection on an Ice Flowers III, I would cheat with Photoshop and blot out the dots or drops. It would also be interesting to get even closer and cleaner on the flowers. Also, I'm not sure about the dark blot on the background. Link to comment
dan_osterberg 0 Posted November 26, 2001 Perhaps a bit messy or chaotic - I can't see the pattern. But it's still a beautilful shot with detail to keep the viewer seated. Very nice. Eli jatka siitä vaan... Link to comment
timo-manuel junge 0 Posted January 4, 2002 Have to rate this 9 and 9 -- since I did not gave anything a 10 yet ;-) Damn good photo, good idea and great implementation. The whole series of pictures is an eye candy! All the best greetings from Timo to Timo ;-) Link to comment
