this simple view of a bird feeder and squirrel guard. The license

plate on top of the feeder is meant to create a slippery surface to

a squirrel's claws making it difficult if not impossible to hold on

to the top of the feeder with its claws -- that is if it was able to

negotiate the guard above without falling.
