...in the ranks. sorry azi. the color is pushed way too far, particularly the blue and cyan which are really starting to separate in the foreground. the border is most distracting and the huge poster-style text really spoil the mood of the shot. also im very quickly tiring of the zero-detail moving water effect. it is ubiquitous, but never a word about it looking more like smoke or fog instead of water. respectfully, d.

Interesting. Besides the great composition the shifting in colour is exactely what I like. It has something abstract like a beam of light. And the black poster frame adds a lot of drama to it.

But isn't the nice thing about photography all the different visions we have ...

This was shot about 6 in the evening. The sun had set, but I still needed 2 filters to cut ddown enuf to get 30 seconds.

Some of you have said that there is a color shift- I found it surprising too. As far as I knew it is colour films (Velvia for example) which would show this effeect due to assymetric response to freq.- I had thought digital sensors would be immune to this.

As for thwater effect I know it is cliched. But as they say- first emulate the cliche, get it out of your system and then go and do something original. I havent yet got to the original stage, so I am still trying to emulate the cliches.

The poster look is because I had initially prepared this image for print, and this is how I had wantd it.

Thanks for all the critiques.

I signed in tonight just to compliment you for this terrific photo. You might experiment with a smaller font size for 'Castle Rock Falls,' but that's the only suggestion I could make. Everything else here works exceedingly well for me.

Very nice capture! I like the blue and black border--it really highlights the blue of the water. Not too crazy about the printing, but hey, who cares!! LOL

Well, you've certainly attracted more interest than the average waterfall picture. I actually like the fuzzy water effect. I don't think this is a color shift: the color of "white" in this deep shadow is blue. I think the water would look odd if it were truly "white." My only critique is that the foreground rock(s) seem over sharpened. Sometimes a polarizer is useful to get rid of the specular highlights if you want to. Overall, though, congratulations on a really interesting and arresting image.
