jon thornton 0 Posted August 2, 2005 The composition and colour are really good in this shot. I would however, like to see a bit more detail in the bird's face. When photographing a bird like this, experts will often take 20 or more frames. This increases their chance of catching the bird with the sun on its face and a catchlight in its eye. Most of the bird photography books that I have read suggest that the best bird photos are taken from the bird's own level. This is easy when the bird is on the ground. All the photographer has to do is lie on his stomach. It is a bit more difficult however, when the bird is up a tree. In this case the photographer needs to either climb an adjacent tree of find something really tall to stand on. Link to comment
